Description

Where do I find Conference planners and presenters' conflict-of-interest (COI) disclosures? Conference planners’ disclosures are in the Final Program on page 64. Both planners’ disclosures and faculty disclosures (chairs and presenters of all CME-accredited sessions) are online at http://conference.thoracic.org/program/resources/2017/advance-program.pdf. Links to the above are also in the Conference App under CME/MOC. Faculty disclosures will also be displayed at the start of every presentation in CME-accredited sessions (see Conflict of Interest (COI) Disclosure). Shane McDermott (smcdermott@thoracic.org) OR John Harmon (jharmon@thoracic.org) Conflict of Interest (COI) Disclosure What is the process for the "disclosure slide" for my presentation? For most CME-accredited sessions, the mandatory "disclosure slide" is now produced automatically through the online Disclosure Slide Form submission process as part of the PowerPoint upload and/or submission at Speaker Ready Room, and displayed automatically at the start of the presentation. **Exception: presenters for Sunrise, Meet the Professor, Thematic Seminar series, Medical Education Seminars and Faculty Development Seminars must personally prepare and show a disclosure slide at start of presentation, since they personally bring their talk to meeting room. Instructions have been sent to all faculty in CME-accredited sessions and are at http://conference.thoracic.org/speakers/onsite-presenter-disclosure.php. Faculty that must personally prepare a slide can use “Faculty Disclosure Slide Templates” at http://conference.thoracic.org/speakers/index.php. Fran Comi, Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Room 159 AB (Middle Building, Street Level) How do I disclose if I am a late change to the program? (2 steps - both required) All faculty in CME-accredited sessions must complete the 2017 ATS COI Questionnaire in advance of their session to comply with accreditor-required review and resolution of relevant conflicts of interest. The questionnaire is at the ATS COI Website at https://thoracic.coi-smart.com. Access requires an ATS-issued login ID previously sent to faculty, and a self-determined password. A “forgot” ID or password option is also available on login page. Late-scheduled faculty must contact John Harmon at jharmon@thoracic.org for site registration and login ID. If online disclosure is impossible, hard copies of the questionnaire are at the ATS Office, Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Room 159 AB (Middle Building, Street Level). Shane McDermott (smcdermott@thoracic.org) OR John Harmon (jharmon@thoracic.org) Where can I get the instructions for Session Chairs on managing COI during their session? See the “Session Chair Instructions” available online at http://conference.thoracic.org/speakers/index.php, and on the ATS COI Website, https://thoracic.coi-smart.com (ATS-issued login ID required; see above). Shane McDermott (smcdermott@thoracic.org) OR John Harmon (jharmon@thoracic.org) Who can I talk to about ATS COI policies and procedures, or about any other COI matter? Shane McDermott at smcdermott@thoracic.org or John Harmon at jharmon@thoracic.org. Shane McDermott (smcdermott@thoracic.org) OR John Harmon (jharmon@thoracic.org)
