Type : Meet the Professor Seminar

Description

This session will focus on new information covering drug associated lung diseases that present in a fashion that may mimic other idiopathic lung diseases. The emphasis of this case-based didactic session will be on clinical recognition of new and classic agents presenting as mimics of other lung diseases such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, sarcoidosis, acute lung injury/ARDS, and pleural diseases. Additional important drug induced mimics include drug induced vasculitides, GPA-like disease, midline destructive lesions and granulomas, diffuse alveolar hemorrhage, drug induced lupus, cytokine release, myositis, immune-mediated diseases from anti-PD1 agents, and silicone embolism syndromes. This discussion will include both physician prescribed as well as patient administered non-prescribed or illicit medications. Discussion will focus on recognition, diagnosis and treatment of these conditions.
