Although associated with decreased HRQOL, impaired functional capacity, and increased mortality, the implications and management of anxiety, depression, and fatigue have often been overlooked among individuals with chronic lung disease. These conditions may further decrease social and physical function, ultimately intensifying somatic symptoms. This session addresses the prevalence, severity, implications, and management of anxiety, depression, and fatigue, including and the impact of confounding variables. Cognitive Behavior Therapy holds promise of helping these individuals. Understanding the implication and management of these comorbidities may enable clinicians to help individuals with chronic lung disease optimize their functionality and HRQOL.
