The session will provide state of the art information on the systematic and comprehensive evaluation of the patient with diffuse parenchymal or interstitial lung disease. This overview will include the important elements of the history, physical examination, serologic assessment and environmental exposures that are required to arrive at an accurate diagnosis. This will be paired with HRCT patterns and findings that prompt specific diagnoses and may obviate lung biopsy. Instructors will use cases to illustrate the multidisciplinary evaluation in clinical practice.
