The lung microbiome field is rapidly evolving beyond mere description of respiratory microbiota into the integrative study of the mechanisms of microbial disease pathogenesis. This scientific symposium will reveal how diverse methodologies can complement microbial community sequencing to unfold the microbiome’s role in the pathogenesis of diverse respiratory diseases.
