This seminar will identify common types of pulmonary infections that occur after lung transplant, their consequences for allograft function, prevention, diagnosis and treatment. The session will have a specific emphasis on current diagnostics and treatment. The field of diagnostics is rapidly changing and presents clinical challenges to the physician on deciding whether to treat or not. Current therapeutic options will be presented as well as novel therapies that are potential options for lung transplant recipients.
