Type : Meet the Professor Seminar

Description

Recent studies have provided insights into several new concepts in G protein coupled receptor (GPCR) biology including identification of novel class of receptors expressed in the airway cells and biased signaling. These concepts are highly relevant to rational design of next-generation drugs, and to understand therapeutic utility/limitations of existing drugs. The session highlights background information on novel and well-known GPCRs in the airways by incorporating cellular and molecular basis for beneficial and deleterious effects mediated via these receptors. The participant will gain insights into the mechanisms of action of current bronchodilators, and new ways of developing anti-asthma and anti-COPD drugs.
